If you’ve logged on to this little thing called the Internet within the past year, there’s a good bet that you’ve ran across the name Promise Tangeman. Graphic designer extraordinaire. Phenomenal photographer. Crafty crafter of crafty crafts. Promise just oozes creativity! Jess and I are grateful to call her a great friend and have been closely inspired by her journey as an artist.

We are SOOO pumped and wanted to tell you all about an amazing opportunity that she has been offered. Promise is going to be one of the platform speakers for the SHOWIT National Freedom Tour!! SHOWIT is an online resource that offers photographers beautiful and amazingly easy capabilities of creating their own websites. Chocked full of gorgeous, essential features, SHOWIT has literally revolutionized the ability for photographers to share their art on the web. We’re actually in the process at this very hour of moving our homebase here at SessionNine Photography.com over to a SHOWIT platform. It just makes way more sense for our creativity and business!

The SHOWIT National Freedom Tour is your opportunity to hear from industry leaders in five jam packed hours of education and inspiration with a focus on freeing your business to grow…hence the name Freedom Tour, haha. Speakers include Jessica Claire, Jasmine Star, Bob Davis, The Grays, Promise Tangeman, Rudy Arpia, Ron Dawson, The Boudoir Divas, & Gabriel Ryan. All the speakers will rotate as Showit goes to different cities and when you purchase a ticket to Freedom Tour 2010 recordings of all speakers will be available for download. Topics range from photography, marketing, branding, blogging, mobile websites, creative design, and web presence. It’s sure to be a ridiculously rad event that could help propel your biz to new heights!

The tour will stop in 9 different cities across the nation and Promise will be speaking on the tour stops in Phoenix, Austin, Atlanta, and Washington DC. Here’s a quick blurb from her blog on what she’ll be diving into when she speaks:

My part specifically will be an interactive conversation about identifying who you are, how to go about the creative process and brainstorming, and then how to make it come to life. We have all sat and listened to the really inspiring speakers talk about the importance of having a strong clear brand, being yourself, and being unique. BUT HOW THE HECK does that translate to a visual design?!?! The session will be the practical application and implementation of how to do just that. We will be looking at branding examples, critiquing, and talking about (but not limited to) the following 3 points.

POINTS WE WILL TALK ABOUT:
1. Define the vibe. Find and develop the visual look and feel of YOUR brand.
2. Rebrand vs. Brand Adjustment?!? Should I? why? when? And how to.
3. Implement your current branding into a SHOWIT site. Learn how to get the best results and not be overwhelmed.

Get & Give Event

We had the pleasure of working with Westcor for the first time about two weeks ago on an amazing event at Arrowhead Towne Center! ATC hosted the Get & Give Event, which was a denim drive set to benefit the West Valley Crisis Center in Glendale. It was an awesome event complete with live models from Anchor Blue, Charlotte Russe, Torrid, Hot Topic and Dillard’s. JC Penny’s Hair Salon was set up with a station where you could get your hair done, Sephora was offering full makeovers, along with Trade Secret, Origins, Paradise Bakery, and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It was a a lot of fun to capture the people and the energy!

The most important thing- 990 pairs of jeans were donated throughout the course of this event! It was so awesome to see people coming together to help by giving jeans that women and children in need will be able to use.

So amazing.
