Hudson Lossing- Newborn Session

What a fun day this was! I (Jessica) headed to The Lossing’s home to capture their newest addition, sweet little Hudson Lossing. You might remember The Lossing’s from their Maternity Session back in April and their Delivery Session just a few short weeks ago. I had the privilege of photographing Hudson’s entrance into this world, and it was my first c-section to photograph too. What an emotional, amazing and incredible experience! And I know first hand that recovering from a c-section is hard, painful and long. But Jen looked awesome when I showed up for their Newborn Session. Rick and Jen both are settling into parenthood wonderfully and are doing awesome. Hudson is SUCH a cute little man! We had fun with the outfits Jen picked out and he was such a good baby the entire time. Only did he start to get fussy as we were finishing up the session!

It’s been such an enormous pleasure to meet and get to know this family. Watching them transition and getting to know them from the times we’ve spent together has just been an honor. Meeting little Hudson and watching them go from a family of two to three has just been incredible. Jen & Rick, Jason and I wish you all the best with your newest little family member! You two have been such a joy to get to know and we are so excited for this journey you are now on! Congrats again!

Samantha & Joe- Maternity Session

Jason and I have known these two for a long, long time! I (Jessica) met Samantha during our college days. We started out as neighbors in the dorms and soon we were roommates! We’ve now been friends for over 10 years and I consider her one of my greatest friends. Her and her amazing husband Joe are now expecting their first child (it’s a boy!!) in August and Jason and I just couldn’t be more excited for them! We were thrilled to be the ones behind the camera to capture these two and that wonderful little baby bump. I know that these two are going to make awesome parents for this little guy and we cannot wait for him to arrive and to meet him.

Sam and Joe- thank you so much for allowing us to capture this exciting time in your lives! You two are amazing people who will love and nurture that little boy like no other. We can’t wait to meet him and watch you begin to grow your family! We love you guys!

Aaron & Lisa- Maternity Session

What a fun little family! Aaron, Lisa and their little girl (who is almost 4) were a joy to spend some time with and photograph. They were very patient with us- right away when we showed up to our choice location, we were asked to leave and told that we could not photograph there! We completely understood and quickly came up with plan B, which ended up being a way better spot for this sweet little trio anyways! Aaron and Lisa are expecting their second little bundle of joy this year and, at the time of this shoot Lisa was about 7 months pregnant. We are beyond excited for these three! We know that their sweet little girl will make such an awesome big sister once the baby is born. We wish them all the best within the next couple months as they welcome Baby #2!

The Lossing’s- Delivery Session

This was one very special Delivery Session. Who am I kidding? They are ALL special and unique in their own ways! But this one is one that I’ll remember for the whole rest of my life! You might remember Jen and Rick from their maternity session that Jason and I did back in April. These two were so excited and anxiously awaiting the birth of their first son, who was due to arrive June 22nd. Well, in the wee early morning hours of June 15th, I received a phone call from Jen that her water broke!! Rick did an awesome job of keeping me updated all day long and at about 5:30 pm it was finally time for me to head down to the hospital.

When I got there both Jen and Rick were in great spirits. Jen had labored long and hard, but she was doing great! I spent some time there with them in their delivery room hanging out and waiting for this little guy to make his debut. Then, after a couple more hours of waiting the nurses and doctor decided that it would be in the best interest of mamma and baby to go ahead and perform a c-section.

Having had a c-section myself, I know all too well the process, emotions, and fears with going through this procedure. I knew it was so important to Jen and Rick to have pictures of their little guy making his grand entrance, but since they usually only let one person into the OR with the mamma, I thought I would have to sit this one out until they were in recovery.

I was wrong!!

I asked a couple of nurses and did what I could to see if there was ANY way I could slip into the OR to photograph the event for Jen and Rick. I, of course, was ready to go along with whatever the doctor said because the most important thing is keeping baby and mom safe. But since it never hurts to ask, I did what I could to see if I could photograph the c-section.

And they said YES!

To my complete shock and honor, I was allowed to scrub up and head into the OR to be apart of this precious baby’s birth via c-section! It was the first c-section I’ve ever photographed and it was the most incredible thing I’ve ever done! Hudson Lucius Lossing was born on June 15th, 2010 at 7:48 pm weighing 9.0 lbs 21 & 1/4 inches. He was such a healthy and happy little guy! Jen did fantastic and Rick was just beaming. It was such an honor to be allowed back to be apart of this miraculous day for them! It never fails to amaze me that couples ask me, allow me, and trust me enough to be involved in something so huge and personal for them.

I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of this incredible story. It was such a fabulous night! There’s nothing better than watching an amazing couple become an amazing family. This is the stuff that life’s all about!

Congrats Jen and Rick on your beautiful new son! I am forever grateful and blessed that you have asked me to be apart of such an important day in your lives. I will never forget this experience and I thank you for your trust in me to capture it. I wish you both the best and can’t wait to come do your Newborn Session!

Jackson Ronning- Newborn Session

Look at this cute little face! Photographing this new little bundle of joy was so amazing! Jackson David Ronning belongs to Rachel and Rob Ronning and his big sister Isabella. He was born at 3:08 pm on May 12th and I had the greatest pleasure of photographing his delivery for this sweet little family. About a week later, I went to The Ronning’s home to spend some time with and to photograph their Newborn Session with little Jackson. He is such a great baby! Very easy going, sleepy, cuddly, and as adorable as they come! What an incredible time for them. I have been tremendously blessed to be apart of it. It’s been so amazing to watch Rachel and Rob grow their precious family and I can’t wait to watch their little ones grow up!

Tanya & Casey- Maternity Session

We have loved meeting the people at Scottsdale Bible Church. We are making friends there that we know will be friends for a long, long time. Tanya and Casey are no exception! We met these two at SBC because they are both leaders in the High School ministry. We quickly discovered that we clicked with the two of them perfectly and have had a blast getting to know and hanging out with them!

Tanya is pregnant with their firstborn son, Isaiah and is due to deliver on June 9th! It’s always so much fun to photograph couples who are on their first pregnancy. There’s a sense of such excitement and anticipation over the unknown. Tanya and Casey are both incredibly excited and cannot wait to meet their little man! We hope he gets here soon!

Congratulations Tanya and Casey! We can’t wait to meet Isaiah and for all of our kids to play together soon. You guys have been amazing friends to us, welcoming us to the community and into your lives immediately. You both are such a great example of what it means to be true servants and have embraced us fully. For that, and many other things, we are thankful for you both and your growing family! Thanks for allowing us to be a part of it!

The Ronnings- Delivery Session

I (Jessica) had the absolute privilege of photographing the birth of one of my closest friend’s brand new baby boy! Rachel, Rob, and Isabella Ronning welcomed Jackson David Ronning into the world on May 12, 2010 at 3:08 pm, weighing 8 lbs 7 ozs and 20.5 in long! Every time I photograph a birth, I’m astounded that these parents allow me in to capture such an amazing and personal event in their lives. And when it’s one of your best friends, it truly can’t get any better than that!

Rachel’s labor went very quickly and smoothly. She was about 10 days early and didn’t labor for too terribly long. She called me at about 11:00 am to let me know that she was heading to the hospital to see if she was ready to be admitted. I could tell that she had to be getting close because it was incredibly hard for her to speak to me during her contractions, which were actually pretty close together! At 11:30 am I got a text message from Rob to let me know that she was in fact admitted and that she’d be getting her epidural very soon! So, I jumped in my car and headed down to Mercy Gilbert Hospital in anticipation of meeting their newest addition!

At 3:08 pm that afternoon, Jackson David Ronning was born! And what a little stud! He arrived weighing 8 lbs 7 ozs and was a little chunk right from the get go! Healthy, happy and beautiful, it was amazing to watch Rachel become a mamma again. She has been such an incredible friend to me for many years and her and her family just mean the world to me and Jason. I was so happy that I was able to make it to her birth (I was scheduled to go out of town the next day AND had a wedding to photograph that weekend! YIKES!) so we were all so ecstatic at how it worked out.

Rachel and Rob, I wouldn’t have missed this if I could help it and I am SO beyond honored that you would ask me to be apart of such a special day and memory. I look forward to all of our kiddos growing up together, as you guys will be friends for a lifetime. Congratulations on such an amazing little boy! I know Isabella is going to be the best big sister/”second mommy” ever! I can’t wait to post your newborn session!

Jen & Rick- Maternity Session

Look at this sweet couple- Oh My! Jen and Rick are expecting their first baby in June, and you can tell that their excitement is just bubbling over! It was such a joy to photograph these two and it was so much fun to swap pregnancy stories and to laugh about all the good and bad things that come along with it.

These two are absolutely in love with the Desert Botanical Gardens and we completely welcomed their idea to have their maternity pictures taken in this beautiful place. And what an amazing day it was! It was somewhat overcast on this day; slightly breezy, not too hot and the desert looked amazing. It was the perfect backdrop for these two, who just came alive once we walked into the gates. They loved it here and it’s obvious in the photographs below.

Jen & Rick- Jason and I are beyond thrilled for the two of you as you prepare to welcome your baby boy! I can’t wait to get the call that you are in labor and I am so honored that you are trusting me to photograph your delivery! You two are going to be amazing parents and we congratulate you as you begin the most amazing and crazy journey of your life!!

The Ronnings- Maternity Session

I was so excited when this little family asked us to take their maternity pictures! Rachel is one of my (Jessica) greatest friends. Her and I met even before she met Rob and Jason and I had only been married for 1 year. Needless to say, we’ve seen each other through a lot over these years and I’m so grateful to have her in my life.

Rachel and Rob have the cutest little family. I mean, seriously. Look at this little girl! Their first daughter, Isabella, is just as cute as they come! She has the most fantastic little personality and always keeps everyone laughing! She’s such an energetic kid, very full of life, expressions and yes, even drama at times. HA! But she is such a joy to be around and I truly love this little girl so much! Rachel and Rob are pregnant with their second child and it’s a BOY! They are naming him Jackson, and I simply can not wait to meet him! Rachel is getting very close to her due date and so little baby boy Jackson should be arriving any day now! Oh, I can’t wait! I can’t wait to see Isabella be such a great big sister to this precious little boy. I can’t wait to watch these kids grow up with ours.

The day we did their photo shoot, Rachel and I had just spent pretty much the entire day together. Her baby shower had been all afternoon, so it was definitely a day of celebration in anticipation of Jackson! I loved the locations we picked for their maternity pictures- of course, this family could be anywhere and take fabulous pictures. We finished the day grabbing dinner at Red Robin, talking, laughing and hanging out as friends. We love these friends and know that they will always be apart of our lives in one way or another.

Congrats Rachel and Rob! I can’t wait to get my camera out to photograph Jackson’s birth and newborn pictures! I’m waiting by the phone to get that phone call, no matter how late or early may he arrive! But mostly, I can’t wait to snuggle him and love on him as you welcome him into your home. You guys are loved and we are blessed by you!

The Zajdzinskis- Maternity Session

We’ve known the Zajdzinki’s for quite some time now. I (Jessica) met Julia and her husband Dave during our time when we both worked for Westcor. We were both in the marketing department and were introduced by our great mutual friend, Sam. What started as a friendship at work, quickly turned into much more! Julia, Sam myself and another great friend Suzanne all formed a book club together and we’ve been reading and meeting monthly for years. Who even knows how many books we’ve read (or not read haha!)

Now years later, neither Julia or myself work for Westcor and we are both stay at home mommies! Julia has one little girl, Ava, who is just about to turn two. And Ava is about to become a big sister ANY DAY NOW! As I type this, Julia is currently a few days past her due date with their second child, a little boy, who is expected to arrive any minute! But you know how babies are, and sometimes they take their time!

I was very fortunate to be able to spend an afternoon with Dave, Julia and Ava, capturing Julia’s baby bump! Ava has a personality that is all her own, so we definitely had to get creative with her busyness! She’s such a little busy body and will make the perfect big sister to her little brother. I was so honored to be able to capture there family as ‘three’, right before they become ‘four’!
