Grant’s like the nicest dude ever. Seriously. This guy would literally give you the shirt off his back if you were cold. And Jodie is no exception. Grant actually helped us a ton with some of the setup for our business seeing as how he has a good deal of experience with all that legal mumbo jumbo. He owns and operates his own mortgage and insurance firm called Stewardship Mortgage. Check out Grant’s resources and what they have to offer if you’re looking for mortgage or insurance help and you need some guys you can trust!

For a couple hours we got the chance to walk around downtown Tempe and take advantage of a fantastic evening. Cruz and Cambria got to be free and run around like….well….kids. Jess and I, as photographers, really do love these shoots where we get to spend time with real, genuine people. We get to breathe a little and just have fun together as we talk about life, being parents, goals, and simply laugh. And Grant and Jodie were the perfect couple for all of that.

We met them in Downtown Phoenix on a sunny afternoon. Nicole and Mike stepped out of the car ready and dressed for the occasion. And they looked simply amazing! We started at an old abandoned garage that was in the area, which really allowed the colors that these two had on really ‘pop’. We loved the contrast that it provided and the scene it set. We soon moved over to Heritage Square, which was close by. The flowers and trees were in bloom with so many fun little flowers. We gathered them up and had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs using them as a prop. Mike and Nicole are such a natural pair together. We were put at ease by them and their sweet demeanors towards one another and you could really see their genuine love and care for one another.

We have been asked to photograph this lovely couple’s upcoming wedding in May and we couldn’t be more excited! Not only are we thrilled to be a part of such a huge occasion, but we are excited to see our two new friends begin a brand new chapter in their lives.

So it was cloudy and gloomy and damp, but The Underwood’s are anything but that! As soon as they stepped out of the car, we knew that the shoot was going to be a lot of fun. Everyone looked amazing, they were in great spirits and they were excited to be with us! So we wandered all of the abandoned hotel grounds finding cool and quirky spots to capture them in. We love when our clients trust us and are up for anything. And that was The Underwood family to a ‘T’! We loved spending time with them. It was very refreshing in all different aspects. And it didn’t rain until our photo shoot was complete!

We met them up at Kierland Commons for the afternoon which ended up being a spectacular backdrop to capture them. Although Alton wasn’t too sure of what to make of the camera at first, we got some fantastic shots of them and loved spending time with them! After our shoot concluded, Aimee and Ben suggested that we grab dinner at The Blue Burrito Grill! There wasn’t a better way to end such a fun shoot!

They have recently been very blessed with their first baby girl, Joanna Thompson. Julie’s pregnancy went great, her labor went amazing. And they have this beautiful little girl to show for it! It was surreal to walk into the hospital to meet Joanna for this first time- here I am looking at my life long friend’s precious little daughter, thinking ‘Wow. She’s here!’. It’s crazy to grow up with people and watch life blossom. And it’s so very cool! Julie and Mike are so in awe of Joanna and they are going to be the greatest parent ever. Jason and I are so very blessed by their friendship in our lives and we can’t wait until our kids can play with theirs!

Here’s the sweetest little girl, who we couldn’t have even dreamed up when we were 11 years old and playing house. She’s amazing!

Her nursery was gorgeous. Every detail was thought of and cared for. And so full of pink! Delicate elephants bordered the walls, Suzanne’s favorite. It was such a great time that I had with them. These two have waited and waited and waited for sweet Annabelle. And now she is here. And while they are exhausted like all new parents are, it’s obvious that they wouldn’t trade one second of any of it. She is here. And they are just eating it all up!

We did this photo shoot with them a few days before they were about to head out of town- unfortunately for good! They have moved to Dallas, Texas to be a part of an amazing community where James is the new Minister to Singles at First Baptist Dallas. We were so thrilled that they asked us to photograph their family one last time in Arizona. We were incredibly sad to see them go. James is an amazing speaker, Tracy is a brilliant woman and their four kids are as cute as ever. You’d be crazy to not see the value in this family and to not want them around. We keep in regular touch with The Patterson’s and hear that they are loving Dallas and are settling in nicely. They even had a bunch of snow a couple weeks ago! We can’t wait to head that way to visit them and see everything that they are doing in their community. They are extraordinary people who have huge hearts. You can’t go through all that we’ve been through with this family and not actually consider them FAMILY.

So let us introduce you to The Patterson family. You will love them as much as we do…

We found a very quaint little spot- actually, I’ve been driving by it for weeks, eyeing it and wanting to use it but had never found the right fit for it yet. After talking with Stacie about her shoot, I decided that they would be the perfect little family for this quiet little spot. And while we were on location, Stacie told me that she was thrilled with the spot because it is exactly her style! I was very happy that we waited to use this spot because it was absolutely perfect for them.

This sweet and simple little family is what it’s all about. We think you’ll agree….

Suzanne and Eric couldn’t stop staring at her, telling her how much they love her, and how they are going to take the best possible care of her that they can. And they mean it too. It was a room full of pure love, one where nothing was taken forgranted. Moments thought about for a long time. And they were very much in the moment. It was amazing and beautiful and riveting.

Suzanne and Eric, Annabelle is perfect. She is such a beauty and I can’t imagine two people better suited for that little girl. I can’t wait to watch your family grow and see who Annabelle becomes. I can’t wait until she can play with Cruz. Thank you for allowing me in to such a huge and special event for you guys. I hope you cherish these pictures for the rest of your lives, allowing them to tell a story that may have been a blur to you at the time. I love you guys, and little sweet Annabelle.

And I got to photograph Jackson, who is just as sweet as they come! His nursery is the perfectly balanced between being for a baby and a grown up- meaning, it’s very sleek with clean lines and simple patterns. It’s very welcoming for a little baby but you will not find one farm animal there at all! Jackson is happy, healthy and beautiful. Jackson’s big brother Landen was there too. You should have seen how excited he was to hold him! He’s going to be such a great big brother to Jackson.

Congratulations Christy, Ryan and Landen! You guys are doing amazing and Jackson is just beautiful!
