John & Roxy – Lifestyle Session

It just doesn’t get much better than this. It doesn’t get much more perfect than this. John and Roxy are like the spitting image of “peas in a pod”. Lots o’ love, compassion for one another, and holding the other person above themselves equals one heck of a gorgeous couple.

Jess and I have known Roxy for a looooonng time, going all the way back to high school days for me, which if you ask Jess was at least forty-three and a half years ago. But I digress, haha. Roxy, has always been like a sister to me, and there is no person on the planet that I’d rather tell a joke to. Her laugh is infectious and genuine and she busts a gut at anything funny. Like to the point of weeping, she’s laughing so hard. It’s incredible.

She’s got a heart of gold that one.

So when Roxy won our Weekend Contest of Love we held last fall, we were SO excited to be able to hang and shoot her and her beau John, who Jess and I got to meet for the first time! John, seriously, is the most ridiculously perfect fit for Roxy. Great dude with a great personality and who absolutely adores Roxy! In fact, the reason they won the Weekend Contest of Love was because John was the only guy/boyfriend who answered the contest question, “What do you love most about your special someone?”, out of all the other entries. The dude just flat out cares. And it shows.

John & Roxy were bold and creative regarding their shoot and suggested a couple areas that they frequent quite often, including a wicked cool abandoned set of buildings near South Mountain Park. When we saw the picture of what they were suggesting, we couldn’t wait!

We started at the base of South Mountain and a couple hours later we had driven all the way to the top and snuck in a handful of shots as the sun bid farewell to the earth. The city beginning to set aglow behind them was the fantastic finish to a wonderful evening with an amazing couple.

John & Roxy, we love you guys tons! Thanks for spending a couple hours for us and working it out like supermodels. We hope for many more days of you falling more in love with each other!

Now with no further interruption….John & Roxy….

    John and Roxy,
These are really beautiful portraits and express so much love and feeling for each other. When I was photographing wedding couples in San Diego, I tried to accomplish the bonding that I see in this session. You guys are in it for the long haul.
    Love,
    Uncle Ken

These photos are amazing! They really do capture the special bond between Roxy and Jon, one of my favorite couples. The first black and white shot of Roxy looking at Jon is my favorite. Stunning actually. Thanks for sharing these wonderful images.
