There’s not a lot of time left in our heavily scheduled calendar blocks to enjoy one another. To focus outward and love. To breathe. And to celebrate.

I think that’s what was so refreshing about Luke & Julie’s wedding day. They took time to breathe in the day and to truly focus their hearts towards one another. Directly after the ceremony was over Luke and Julie, along with their best man and maid of honor, took a quick drive up to the top of Camelback Mountain to pop champagne, laugh, and have a short intimate celebration as a newly married couple. It was perfect for them, and those close emotional moments turned out some of the more beautiful images from the day.

That was just the small celebration. The appetizer if you will. The real CELEBRATION was still yet to come. Later that evening and deep into the night, Jess and I captured and were part of one of the most fun receptions we’d seen in a long time. Luke and Julie (especially Julie, haha) didn’t hold anything back when it came to partying it up with their closest friends and family! Julie almost wore a hole in the dance floor from her rug-cutting moves. And we witnessed one of the biggest cha-cha slides this side of the Mississippi!

It was really a day to behold firsthand. So many loved ones, who cared so tremendously about these two, put together a fantastically beautiful party for the celebration of their wedding. And everyone breathed in and out for a night together with Luke and Julie.

Everybody that came out cele……….well…you know.

Twenty.

Two. Zero.

That’s how many bridesmaids and groomsmen made up this HUGE bridal party! And the “strength in numbers” rule definitely applied to the celebration of Brian & Katy’s special day…the party came out in full force.

I mean, think about love in the real true sense. Nothing stands up to love. There are not words that distort real love into something it’s not. You can not conquer it even if you tried.

Real, genuine love, how it was first designed, will prevail over all. Love moves time and space to be where it needs to be. This is the case of Matt and Carley.

Trust us, if you had the great pleasure of hearing the perfect story of how Matt and Carley came to be, from Carley herself, it would be full of joy and tears and trepidation and fulfillment and honest faith. You’d want to see it in a movie with your sweetheart next to you and a hot chocolate during Christmas. That’s how cool it is.

Jess and I have known Carley for some time now and consider her and her family dear friends of ours. Carley is in fact the sister of Casey, who you may recall, we photographed with his awesome wife Katelyn and bouncing son Hudson. She is incredibly easy to be around, her laughter infecting you making you want to laugh out loud without even really knowing what you’re laughing about! Carley really is amazing. Knowing that, we were incredibly excited to get the request from her to have us capture her wedding day.

It will be fantastic, we can assure you. You just wait.

We finally got to meet this Matt that we had been hearing about, and once we met him Carley’s words of affection all became clear to us. Matt seriously should win the award for “coolest, nicest guy around”. (Who gives that award out anyways? Someone should find out and nominate Matt.) We kind of felt like we had known Matt for a very long time and that it was just good to reconnect again. Matt’s life has been turned upside down in more ways than one by meeting Carley…and all for the better.

He is smitten. Which provides more evidence to believe that their wedding day will be amazing and full of this genuine, captivating love that we’re talking about.

We hope that in some small way, we’ve been able to communicate LOVE and sincerity through these images of Matt & Carley…they’ve moved us for sure. We know this to be true, because we keep looking at them over and over, haha.

Luke and Julie began their life journey together this past Saturday, April 17th. We were there to celebrate and capture this beautiful new chapter with them.

And let’s just say, frankly….these friends know how to celebrate. It was one for the books.

We met them in Downtown Phoenix on a sunny afternoon. Nicole and Mike stepped out of the car ready and dressed for the occasion. And they looked simply amazing! We started at an old abandoned garage that was in the area, which really allowed the colors that these two had on really ‘pop’. We loved the contrast that it provided and the scene it set. We soon moved over to Heritage Square, which was close by. The flowers and trees were in bloom with so many fun little flowers. We gathered them up and had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs using them as a prop. Mike and Nicole are such a natural pair together. We were put at ease by them and their sweet demeanors towards one another and you could really see their genuine love and care for one another.

We have been asked to photograph this lovely couple’s upcoming wedding in May and we couldn’t be more excited! Not only are we thrilled to be a part of such a huge occasion, but we are excited to see our two new friends begin a brand new chapter in their lives.

We picked Downtown Phoenix as our spot for Kevin and Shannon and it was the perfect pick. Shannon had suggested Heritage Square and Jason and I were stoked. We love this area and it was a great spot for the two of them. The leaves were, believe it or not, turning colors and falling to the ground which fit them well since Shannon is from back east. Kevin and Shannon were willing to get on the ground and do anything we asked. They completely trusted us which is a quality that we love and so desire in our clients. We made sure to bust out our iPod, some speakers and jammed to some fun tunes while we snapped away, which created a very relaxing atmosphere and allowed for these two to shine.

We are so excited to be apart of Kevin and Shannon’s engagement and upcoming wedding. They are the best of friends who love each other dearly. It wasn’t hard to capture their genuine friendship and adoration of one another. We couldn’t be happier for them and can’t wait for November 5th, 2010!

And these two are around each other as often as they possibly can be. Paul currently lives in Canada and Julie currently lives in California. While the distance in miles is quite large, these two have managed to have a wonderful relationship regardless the distance! You can tell that they are ready for the gap in miles to close as they begin their marriage together in these next short months. Their engagement shoot was a morning shoot, but we truly could have spent all day with these two. It sort of felt like we had all been friends for a long time and that we were just hanging out! We headed downtown during our short hours together and it was the perfect backdrop to capture these two. But actually, we could have been anywhere with Julie and Paul and it wouldn’t have mattered. You could tell that they were just elated to be with one another!

Set to wed in May, Jason and I are ecstatic that they have asked us to shoot their wedding! And what a celebration it’s going to be! We can’t wait to be a part of such a huge occasion in their lives and are constantly taken aback that we are asked to be involved in such things. It’s such an honor!

Julie and Paul, we are thrilled for you and your exciting engagement! We can’t wait to see you again in time for your wedding day and are grateful and excited to be a part of it!
