Let me introduce you to my (Jessica) beautiful cousin Sarah and her amazing husband Jake. They are due to have their first baby girl, Jillian, in February and our entire family couldn’t be more ecstatic! Plus, Cruz will have a little one to play with! Sarah and I have been pretty close for all of our lives- well, our whole family is very, very close. It’s pretty unusual to be so close to all of your cousins in your family, but we all grew up together and I’m just not sure what life would be like if it were any different!
Sarah and Jake were married last October, but they have been dating for many, many years. When she told me that she was expecting a baby I immediately asked if she would mind if I flew to California to do their maternity pictures. She was thrilled and so that’s exactly what I did! Her baby shower was scheduled for the first week of December, so I flew out the day before to photograph these two and I had the best time ever!
As soon as I got off of the plane, they were more hospitable than I could have ever asked for. We spent the day of their shoot in a number of different places because Sarah and Jake were up for anything! We started at a nifty car parked right down the street from their house, to Huntington Beach, to Seal Beach, random railroad tracks and even a beautiful cemetery! They were ready and willing to have their picture taken any and everywhere. Plus is was pretty overcast for most of the morning so I’m pretty sure I could have photographed these two all day!
It has been so exciting to see her little baby bump grow and grow! Little Jilly will be here before we all know it and I can’t wait to meet her. Sarah and Jake were such a breath of fresh air and they are going to make such amazing parents. They are ready for this little girl to come and be apart of their new family. She’s such a blessing already, and she’s not even here yet!
